STORIA DI SERENA CHIARELLO. DAL GIORNO SOLENNE ALLA VICINANZA - X PARTE

In occasione della festività terrena e celeste i Chiarello decisero di concederSi un regalo: tornare a Lourdes e rivivere spiritualmente uno dei momenti più importanti della loro vita.

Decisero di partire nel mese di giugno, seppur ricordo ai lettori che il compleanno della nostra piccola Serena si celebri ogni anno il 4 novembre. Anche questo distingue la vita consacrata dei Chiarello dal resto delle comuni famiglie.

Il 26 giugno 2024 Maria e Accursio approfittarono del viaggio organizzato dalla Padre Saverio Taffani per raggiungere la loro amata Lourdes. Dopo la perdita di Serena, gli unici viaggi dei Chiarello si racchiudevano in soste ricorrenti che, come meta ultima, avevano la Germania per raggiungere la primogenita Elisa che da anni ormai si era trasferita con il marito ed i figli. Questa volta il viaggio era completamente diverso, non solo per la località ma, soprattutto, per l’incontro che avrebbero fatto. 

Non si sbagliarono.

Why Do Catholics Confess to a Priest?

One of the most misunderstood teachings of the Catholic Church is confession. Many people, Catholics and non-Catholics alike, wonder, "Why do Catholics confess their sins to a priest? Can't we just go directly to God?"

The short answer? Yes, we confess to God, but we do so through the ministry Jesus himself established.

Let's go straight to the Bible.

In John 20:21-23, after his resurrection, Jesus appears to his apostles and says, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, so I send you." Then the Gospel tells us: "He breathed on them and said, 'Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive, they are forgiven; and whose sins you retain, they are retained.'"

THE ENDURING INFLUENCE OF ST. AUGUSTINE INSHAPING THE PONTIFICATE OF POPE LEO XIV

Robert Francis Prevost (now Pope Leo XIV) was raised in a modest and simple household, and his early years were influenced by the integration of his intelligence and humility. He was drawn as a young man to the more profound, subdued facets of knowledge and faith rather than the limelight of the world. His experience made his words and deeds even more significant as he grew older. He rose to prominence as a spiritual leader, providing consolation and direction to others in his vicinity.  

Who would have expected that the Holy Spirit would select him to lead the Catholic Church, despite the fact that he was not as well-known as some of his contemporaries? He is the first pope from the Order of Saint Augustine, and this represents a turning point in the history of both the religious order and the Church. Because of this, his Augustinian upbringing would have a significant impact on his papacy, affecting his views on service, charity, community, and unity. All of these are essential tenets of Augustinian spirituality.
